Director of Operations

Our customer is looking for an up-and-coming operations leader with a strong personal presence and self-confidence to help lead their fleet of flatbeds and reefers and play a pivotal role in improving the efficiency of the fleet. The company is located in greater Tampa, FL and offers a competitive base, a bonus plan based off KPIs and company profitability, full benefits package (health, dental, vision, 401K, gym membership), and advancement and career development opportunities. Reporting to the owner, the base range is $110,000 - $125,000 with a 15% - 20% bonus plan.
The purpose of this role is to implement, executive and/or amend the overall strategic vision while being a key contributor to the improved efficiencies and profitability of the company through analysis, team management, commitment to continuous improvement, and overall industry and truckload knowledge.
The responsibilities of the Director of Operations include:
· Create, develop, and monitor KPI metrics for operations
· Track and forecast operational trends and analysis
· Strategically analyze and develop freight lanes to optimize operational efficiency
· Analyze the performance and profitability of the fleet of drivers and actively led continuous improvement activities
· You must have managed and improved dispatch operational structure and procedures
· Increase efficiencies and reduce costs using proven methods and tools from previous experience
· Quickly implement best practices from previous successful experiences
The job requirements of the Director of Operations include:
· Must be willing to relocate to Tampa (no remote candidates will be considered). Relocation allotment is included
· You must have more than ten years of operational leadership with an asset-based trucking company with more than 100 trucks/OOs
· You must be able to read and audit driver logs and understand all governing laws specifically an in-depth knowledge of HOS rules and regulations
· You must have experience leading and developing a team of 8-10+ Fleet Managers / dispatchers
· You must have a working knowledge and quantified experience within the flatbed industry in the Eastern U.S
· You must have a high business acumen and be able to contribute to conversations in many disciplines, including safety, finance, HR, freight tech, etc.
· You must be a thought leader who can identify issues and create and implement resolutions without direction from leadership.
